Community Furniture Project

The Community Furniture Project (CFP) provides furniture, household goods and toys at low cost to people in need in Newbury and the surrounding areas. The CFP is able to do this by collecting furniture and other items donated by local people.

Items available from the Project

The CFP aims to help people with most things needed to set up home: Furniture, including beds, wardrobes, sofas, tables etc. Electrical items, such as cookers and fridges. Household goods, such as crockery and curtains. The CFP also carries toys and baby equipment.

All items are checked for safety before they are passed on.

Volunteers at the Project

The CFP is a voluntary organisation with a board of trustees and a small team of employees. Much of the work is done by volunteers, who drive the van, move furniture, show customers around, and help with administration.

The running of the CFP relies on local people giving their time to help others.
