Reading Green Party

Reading Green Party pulled out all the stops for the June 10th local elections, and compared to the 2003 elections we fielded more candidates, gained more votes, increased our percentage of the vote. We also helped to get Caroline Lucas re-elected as Green MEP for the South East.

We are carrying the momentum generated through into our various campaigns. As well as ongoing membership and fund-raising, we are campaigning for "Green electricity", local food, better public transport, cycling and walking facilities, and against environmentally and socially destructive developments.

With regards to electioneering, we are making preparations for the general election, and we are continuing to "work" our target wards.

The Green Party is nothing without its members and supporters. There are many ways that you can support the Green Party. The most obvious one is to vote for us in local national and European elections, but you can also put up a poster, come to a Reading Green Party meeting, deliver leaflets, join the Green Party or support us financially.
