Reading Women's Environmental Network

Reading WEN is a small group of women working on environmental issues that affect local people. We form part of the Women's Environmental Network, the national membership charity working to inform and empower women and men who care about the environment.

We usually meet whenever we are planning an event at the Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC), London St. Reading. We used to meet once a month but recently have not been able to this. We are looking for new active members.

Projects we are working on include health, waste prevention, real nappies and local food. We have recently organised an organic feast and discussion about food issues to launch the group, run a stall and display at WOMAD in the One World Tent, an environmental pub quiz, and a talk/discussion on GM issues, entitled The Giant Green Salmon and Other Stories.
