Tree Wardens are volunteers with an interest in trees and their local environment. They do not need to be experts as free training is provided to help gain the necessary knowledge. Wardens often collaborate on specific projects such as gathering information and recording locations and conditions of different species in their neighbourhood, helping to carrying out woodland or hedgerow surveys and offering practical advice.
There are presently over 50 trees wardens in the Royal Borough, all keen amateur enthusiasts for the fate of our native trees. If you are interested in becoming one please contact: Trevor or Becca at Braywick Nature Centre, Hibbert Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 1UU. Tel 01628 773890.
The Scheme is run by the Tree Council. If you would like to set up a tree warden scheme in your area contact them at 020 7828 9928 or visit www.treecouncil.org.uk
